Jellyfish sightings with Baleària Foundation and Xpedicionària project

From february 2010 a collaboration between Baleària Foundation and the LIFE CUBOMED project was established, with the objetive to obtain data about presence and abundance of different jellyfish species as well as other marine organisms as fish, cetaceans or turtles. Marine litter and other contaminants are also registered during the cruises.  

Thus, very valuable information about the state of the Mediterranean Sea is recorded during the the sailing trips of Baleària ferrys between Barcelona, Valencia and the Balearic Islands.

Thanks to the help of volunteers of all ages, there are more than 3 years of monthly records, including data about jellyfish populations and other marine fauna.
