This initiative of citizen science was carried out in the framework of LIFE CUBOMED project and with the collaboration of Muy Interesante magazine, the Institute of Marine Sciences (CSIC) and the European Institution CIESM. The main objective was to involve the public to participate in the project, through the report of their observations of presence of jellyfish at the beaches, to create a detailed map of the distribution of different species of jellyfish in the Mediterranean Sea, including the box jellyfish Carybdea marsupialis.
